Chris Travis Jock Pix
The Wombats
album: A Guide To Love, Loss & Desperation
song: Let's Dance to Joy Division + Kill The Director

From Liverpool, England. These guys play super catchy, upbeat songs in the vein of other recent UK phenoms Arctic Monkeys. Their songs are almost catchier though and get stuck in your head instantly.

Russian Circles
album: Station
song: Harper Lewis

Super awesome epic instrumental rock from Chicago. Recorded in Seattle and released on local label Suicide Squeeze. If you like Mogwai and Explosions in the Sky, you'll love it.

Hungry Pines
album: Golden You
song: all of them. But, 'Purple Dad, Purple Daughter + Hot Beat from an AM' are highlights

This city is producing really great music right now, and this band is one of them leading the way. If you listen to Y&R at all, you'll know I've been raving about this band for month's now. Unique, great vocals, and extremely well put together songs.

Speaker Speaker
album: Call It Off
song: Call It Off + Pick Me Up + So Many Nights....all of them, really

Always a local favorite. The debut full length is completely catchy and pounds through 13 songs in a half hour. Like if you mixed Ted Leo with Jawbreaker. Produced by J. Robbins and awesome artwork by Jesse Ledoux (who did the Shins "Chutes Too Narrow" as well).
Someone still Loves You Boris Yeltsin
album: Pershing
song: 'Glue Girls'

Loved this band's first record, just getting into their new one. If you like the Shins, you'll love this... a little more upbeat, but you'll still love it
