The Kooks
album: Konk + Rak
song: All Of Them Are Good
I'm so glad I bought the limited edition double CD version...the second CD is SERIOUSLY GOOD

Low VS. Diamond
album: Low VS. Diamond
song: This is Your Life
This song reminds me of that song by Feeder, "High" because it's so much about how life is. The record is great straight out rock, nothing really hard, just simple easy to listen to alternative rock, one of those records where you listen to the whole thing and think, "Here's one of those records where every song is solid."

Does It Offend You, Yeah?
album: You Have No Idea What You've Gotten Yourself Into
song: We Are Rockstars
This album is the shit. Take the chemical brothers, Nirvana, and alternative rock, put them in a blender, turn it on high, really high, and this is what you get. Check out the 2.57 minute video for the song on u-tube. There are a couple of videos for the song, mostly homemade or live, but this one really captures what the song is about. This band will tear you from your seat and throw you across the room; it will feel good.

Elbow
album: The Seldom Seen Kid
song: One Day Like This
This has always been one of my favorite bands. They fall into the ColdPlay Snow Patrol category but are far more symphonic, especially on this CD. Each song is masterfully crafted to make you think of something other than what a shitty day you had at work. The richness of the guitar, keyboards, and vocals are so powerful, you can't help but be moved by this record. NME (New Musical Express Magazine) gave it a 9 out of 10; I concur. You can see Elbow with the God head band Air Traffic May 5 at the Showbox

Los Campesinos
album: Hold on Now Youngster
song: Don't Tell Me To Do the Math
This 7 piece outfit from Wales makes Vampire Weekend look like their little siblings. These guys and girls are FUN!!! They are Pavement on a playground with a violin, glockenspiel, melody horn, guitars, drum, bitching vocals, and more energy than even I could muster up on a Saturday afternoon. These guys and girls are in town May 31 at Neumos.
